The council took the time to recognize a completed Eagle Scout project at the city’s cemetery during tonight’s city council meeting.

Scout:  Tanner Sorensen of Troop 507

Project statement from Tanner Sorensen:  “The existing plot markers in lot B at the Mt Pleasant cemetery consisted of aluminum spikes placed in the sod Many were overgrown with grass, or buried 2-3 inches and impossible to find without a tape measure.  We dug one foot squares in the sod and cement the plot markers in them so they can be more visible to cemetery patrons. Over 100 total man-hours was spent on the project.”Eagle Scout

In an effort to abide by the Govenor’s social distancing recommendation of no more than 10 people in a group, the Mount Pleasant City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday March 24th, 2019 has been cancelled. We will keep you updated on the scheduled meetings in April
